COUNCIL OF EDUCATION.
ELECTION OF MEMBERS. The triennial election to fill vacancies on the General Council of Education took place .yesterday. Selection was made from five different groups of candidates, and the ballot; resulted as follows-.— Certificated male teachers, public echools, North Island.—Tom U. Wcllb, 367 votes (elected); Frank L. Combs, 120. Certificated female teachers, public schools, North Island.—Miss l'hoebe Myers, '137 (elected); Mies ..Nellie E. Coa'd; 212. Male teachers, secondary and technical schools.—Frank- H. Campbell. 115 (elected); George George, 41. Female teachers, secondary and technical scliools.-Mi.y A. B. A. Buller, 91 (elected); ss A. M. Batham, 52. Education Boards, North Island.—David T. Fleming, 27, and William M. Hamilton, 22 (elected); John C. Thomson, M.P., 11; Edward J. Scaiitlebury, 5. The new members, consisting of Misses P. Myers iiiul A. B. A. Butler, nnd Messrs. '1 , . U. Wells, F. H. Campbell, D. T. Fleming, and W. M. Hamilton, will assume office on Juno 1.
