Some interesting fads relating lo the keeping qualities of butter in cold storage wero mentioned by Mr. James Prouso at a meeting aflievin on Friday. Ho said that a parcel of butter—twelve boxes —was overlooked in tho cold stores in Wellington for a period of eight years. A doaloi' bought tho butter and it opened up in first-class condition. It had been found that butter retained its quality even after twelve years in oold storage, so when they heard it said that it took a long while for New Zealand buttor to got to England and that it could not be, therefore, ns good as an article that was put straight from the dairy on to the market, they could concludo that tho statement was made by an interested party.
