WAR LECTURE

On Friday evening next the" Hon. T. M. Wilford will deliver a leotuie on the

latest phases of the war. Since his appointment to the Ministry Mr. Wilford has refrained from lecturing on the war, but at the earnest solicitation of the pressmen of Wellington ho has consented to lecture in aid of the funds of the Frees Baby campaign, i> nd all wha have heard Mr. Wilford in the past will no doubt welcome the opportunity of hearing what ho has to say on the big German push and the gallant etand made by the British and French armies against overwhelming odds. The ovening promises to be a .notable one, for Mr. Wilford will have tho support of '500 or so young patriots from the State schools of the city, who under tho baton of Mr. Robert' Parker will sing inspiriting choruses as only children can do. The box plan for' Mr. Wilford'e lecture shoild be visited as early as possible to-morrow.
