In moving the adoption of th'o report and balance-sheet at tho annual meeting of the Manawatu A. and. P. Association, held at Palmerston North, the retiring presidont, Mr. A. Buchanan, a brother, and Mr. E. Stevens a nephew during the past year. The Now Zoaland Council of Agrioulturo held its conv ferenoe. in Wellington in July last. The secretary, Mr. Penny, had conducted the affairs "of the -. association with his usual urbanity nnij .efficiency, and his assistants, Mr. Balpin "and Miss Boyne, had carried out.their duties well. - ■• Mr. R. M.- M'Knight, hon. treasurer, analysed the balance-sheet, and showed' that the association, instead of becoming self-supporting, was becoming more and Imore dependent upon (donations. Generally speaking, however, the balancesheet presented-a most satisfactory state of affairs, upon which the association had reason to be gratified. Mr. John Balsillio was elected president, and the vice-presidents elected were Messrs. D. Buick, H.F., J. A. Nash, H. Akers, J. P. Atkins, W. M'Kenzie, R. Stevens; honorary treasurer, Mr.' R. ..M'Knight; Messrs. ,T. Saunders, F. W. Acton, IT. A. Conway, A. Sutherland, ,T. Linklater, H. Gillies, J.H. Perrett, F. ,T. Ellis, L. H. Collinson, G. I. Marshall, M. A. Eliott, and D. Buchanan were elected- members of the committee/ Mr. Connell was re-elected, auditor.
