FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

Mr. A. E. Wolle presided over a meeting of the M&aagoment Committee of tho Wellington, Football Association held in tho Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening. Tho Y.M.C.A. Club wroto stating that it was intended to appeal to tho Now Zealand Football Council against tho decision of tho committee in tho recent six-a-side tournament. Tho letter was held over ponding the receipt of tho protest fee oJ £\..

A letter was received from the Town Clerk stating that six grounds had beon made available for tho play of school Association football on Friday afternoons during the season, play not to commenco before 3 p.m. The entry of Kelbum Sixth Class Ji team for tho school competitions was accepted. Mr. V. \V. Christian, assistant master at tho Native College, Otaki, wroto asking if it were possible to organise a junior team to play at Otaki on-Satur-day," May 25. It was deoided to reply that it would bo impossible- to get a team together so early in tho season, but that an effort would bo made to send a team ktor on.

Tho Town Clerk wroto etating that eight grounds in the city reserves had been made available to the association at a foo of «£5 55., but under no circum. stancos would permission be granted for early matohes on Saturday afternoon. The restriction as to tho early matches caused some concern, and it was decided to co-operato with other spona bodies to approach tho Kesurves Committee on tho matter, and tho chairman and Mr. W. Aukl wero appointed delegates to-confer with, delegates from tho lliigl>y Union, on tho subject. With tho object of raising funds which aro urgently needed it has been decided to hold a swimming carnival at the Tepid liatlis at an early date, and a conceit is also to bo arranged,, tho details of which lire in tlio hands of strong committees.

It was decided to hold senior competitions beginning on Saturday, Hay 25, entries to closo on May '22. Tha following clubs are likely to entor teams:— Porirua, Diamond, Thistle, Boys' Institute, Y.M.C.A., and St. David's.
