Stutter, who drew mo rails, was favourite, and jumped out smartly, but after going three furlongs slio mopped to nothing, and was one of tho last to finish. Mack Kleevee drew to outsiclo, and was unlucky, as ho was kept wide out on the bend, und then only missed second place by a head. Tho winner turned up in Black Heath, who came fust in tho straight, und won by several lengths, uhilo Tumo just beat Black Sleeves. Tho Wairarapa owner, Air. (J. Hume, owns the winner, who la by An Black from Hoee Beaton.

Henry Clay was withdrawn from tho big handicap in favour of his stable companion, Astor. The latter, with Deelcy in tho saddle, was a good favourite, and in a fast-ruu race ho won well over tho lust furlong. Achilledcs and Good Hope led the favourite down tho back. At tho half mile Ladil'y moved up, and was alongsido tho leaders at the.bottom of tho straight. Tlioit Deelcy rushed the favourite through, and in the run home he won by a length and a half from Ladify, who was ridden right out to beat l'icnzi. Good Hope was fourth.

All started in tho Omaka Welter Handicap, the top weight, Bluo Gown, being a good favourite. She could not begin with the big weight, and was giving tho field a long start at tho half-mile. In the straight she came- fast on the outside, and to tlie crowd appeared to get up, but the judge awarded the race to TrioKery, and placed A_rihia third. Subsequently, on tho stipendiary .steward mentioning the matter, the judge altered tho figures, and placed Skedaddle third, but the other figures were not altered. Frisco Hose was fourth, ■ ■ • Astor and Bawakoro wero tho scratchines from, tho Telephone Handicap, a field of six going to tho post. Starengo was a hot order on tho machine, and aftor Blairnndo had led Merrio l'oto into the straight, tho favourito then came away and won easily. Merrio Foto had to be kicked out to boat Achillodes, who was not so quick ae usual at finding his feet. Good Hope, was fourth.

Arihia crossed her legs and came down, but, barring a shaking, her rider was uninjured. ,llio Fourth Trot Handicap was an exercise jog for Lockwood, a well-bred son ot tho New Zealand Cup winner, Wildwood Junior. He took chargo at the start, and len throughout, winning by his handicap. The Farewell Handicap, five furlougg, was a record botting race for tho club. Aator, Merrio Toto, and Humorist declined their engagements, uud the public made Eawakoro a hot favourite. Starengo and Jtount Victoria played up at tho barrier, and both got away badly. Blairfindo was soon out in front, and put a break on tho Held, lie led all the way, and won by several lengths, whilo Itoscvear beat the favourite by.a head. The winner wag formerly owned by J. JPLaughliu. He is an Auntrullanbred horsi; aud this ia his first win in this country.
