RE HARMONIC SOCIETY'S CONCERT
Sir,—As one who was present at thif society's concert on Saturday evening last I feel that very inadequate justice was <iou€ in your report of this excellent performance. At a lime of such strenuous calls on tlio timo and energy of our people i?o shauld feel grateful that some enthusiasts in the community recognise tlio need, of turning a brighter side of the page of our civic life to thg citizens. This society has never, I believe, presented a more enjoyable proiH'amme to the public (notwithstanding its previous (xcellent performances) than that of Saturday evening, and it was with keen regret that I read your report of Monday morning. I would be grateful if you will publish this letter, because, not only in my own case, but in that ol! many others in the community, wo should endeavour to sustain interest in such societies whoso members spend so much of their time patiently endeavouring to maintain the inspiring spirit ot good music in our midst.-I am, etc., MUSICAL.
Wellington, May 15; 1918= [Our report gave due credit to tne society and its conductor for an ex-_ cellent performance.]
