"Inquirer."—A second lieutenant or lieutenant in the- field receives in pay and allowances 15s. a day, or i>273 n year. Some officers in the training camps receive extra pay for special duties, and it is admitted that anomalies exist. The matter is being dealt with by the Defence Expenditure Commission.
