BROOKLYN HARRIERS
The Brooklyn, Harriet' Club hold its usual weekly rnn from Seatonn on Saturday. The excellent trail laid by Mr. tfarlen and Mr. Townseud led around the beach to "Worser Bay, thenoo over the lull to Wonderland, and across the fields past the gasometer to the road; then up the road, through tho Seatoun tunnel "and down past the terminus for about three hundred yards. The pnck was then halted for the run-in, and, handicapped by the club-captain, a good finish •was witnessed, resulting in a win tor M. Ellison, S. Oldfield, and F. Nicholson ngnting out a close ■ second, which was secured.by S. Oldfield, E/Nicholson coming third. After the run, members, with their lady friends, some forty in number, proceeded to the tea-rooms for afternoon tea, which was well catered for und enjoyed, by those present. . Mr. Bull! the chib captain, expressed the sympathy of the club for.the lion. secretnrv,.,wlio wa» absent owing to the death "of his father, the late Mr. Missen, of Taihape. fcrreat interest is taken in tho two-mile novice handicap which is to be run at Miramar next Saturday. H. 'Steere, D Wilson, and W. Townsend are showing good form, and, judging from their running, they will put up a good race.,
