BEAUTIFYING ISLAND BAY

Sir,—l notico a movement is on foot to beautify Island Bay. _As. a newcomer to Wellington it seems to me extraordinary that this has not been done long ago. Take Caroline Bay in Timaru, for instance. ' This has been convorted during the last ten years into a plaoe of beauty. Island Buy could equally be made beautiful, and with a large park and amusements going on in tho summer timo'it would attract crowds of people. Also, if the tramline were extended a milo or two further on houses would soon appear and tho population increase. In iny opinion this is' one of the healthiest suburbs in Wellington, with its wide expanse of ocean view and bracing climate, and must have a great future before it.—l am, etc. A..YISITOR.
