CANTERBURY PRODUCE MARKET
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, May 10. The local grain and produce- market continues very quiet. Offerings of wheat ore limited, and oats are still scarce. The shortage of storage accommodation and shipping is resulting in merchants closing down on almost all bulky lines. For this reason oatsheaf chaff is now difficult to dispose of, and nominally is ■worth £5 to .65 10s. per ton at country stations, for best quality. Tho oats market is weaker, milling Algerians being now worth 4s. to 4s. 3d., and milling Cartons Is. 3d. to 4s. 4d. per bushel, at country stations. Cowgrass is selling at About Is. 3d. to Is. 3d. per lb., but while clover is much weaker, and boat quality U now worth only Is. (id. to Is. M. Tho potato market is very qniet, -Cew buyers ■being anxious to make purchases in view of the importations from Australia. Sales are taking place at M to Jft 10s. por ton at country stations. Peas era now dull of sale, Partridge being quoted at 7s. to 7s. 3d. per bushel at country f rations.
