The position is practic- i ally this: that I am ordered to find a! man to tako my placo within a month, I and my young married brother gets a j sine dio adjournment. The .point is,! why should I be penalised becauso I! have remained single and loyal to tho I Government, and the taxpayer, as L will | lie leaving no burden behind in Hie shape of wife, and family? I shall bo 'glad if you, Mr. Editor, will give me a satisfactory answer, to the above query, j. am only working for a. square deal.— I am, etc, ' Justice. rpresnmabiy, ,our correspondent holds the view, that lie, a single man; should be permitted to remain on tho farm wliilo his brother, a married man with two children, should be sent away on activo service. His contention is that his brother, having married since May, 1915, is not entitled to rank as a married man. Tho military service boards arc presumed to treat all cases on their merits, and it seems to us that in choosing between two brothers, in the circumstances 6tated by our correspondent, the lward exercised a proper discrimination.]
