The local horses Eienzi and Blue Gown, in charge of 0. Pritchard and Lady Phyllis, and Bakaia, iu charge of A. Goodman, are to be shipped to l'ictou on Monday. They Are to race at the Mnr borough Meeting, which takes place on lueaday and Wednesday next. Coalition, in charge of 11. M'Sweciiey, will leave for Wanganui on Tuesday next, and he will do tho Ellerslie Meeting beforo returning home. He may be accompanied by Seadown, who is nominated in Hat ovents at Ellerslie, but nothing definite has yet been decided as to the latter horse. Ills' owner was present at Irontha.ni on Thursday to see him schooled, and he went a round of the feuoes without a mistake of any kind.
After his return from the Auckland Meeting, J. W. : Lowe will take up Mascot to get her ready for spriug racing. Her stable companion, Menelaus, is being exercised regularly on the roads, so when his turn comes to again go into activo training it will not take long to get him ready.
Last week Johnny Walker was blistered, and he will probably be allowed to run out for a further term of six monthß. His owners are considering putting him over hurdles next wiuler.
The Pateena, which sailed for licton yesterday, had on board the racehorses Henry Clay, Astor, Eowakore, Ladify, Gold Problem, Blairflude, Humorist, liuumaltaka, and Chudiu. Thoy are to race at the Marlborough Mooting uext week.
Gladful is not forward enough to race at Wangauui, and his name will probably be missing when the acceptances are posted for the Century Hurdles.
The Boniform-Dreamer Tilly, a full-sis-ter to Bon Iteve, has again joined tho working team at Trentham. J. Olsen has. been engaged to ride Achilledes in the Marlborough Cup.
Braoburn, Crib, and Sleight of Hand havo all been scratched for their engagements at tho Great Northern Meeting.
Korero, who has been jumping well at Trentuam, is to fulfil his engagements iu the lack Steeplechase, at Wangunui. Ho will go north in charge of J. Scott, who is also taking Sardinia to the meeting.
No pains uro being spared to have Waimai ut hia.best to contest the Grant Northern Steeplechase, and besides receiving every attention from his trainer, i\ Flynn, who is to rido the Spalpeen gelding, journeyed all the way from U'niisanul last week-end to school him on Saturday. He was accompanied over tho course by Moddlte and Captain Lock, and gavo a pleasing exhibition. It is more than likely Flynn will pay another visit shortly to headquarters from the coastal township to school tho son of Spalpeen, who is not by any means badly treated in Mio Great Northern Steeplechase,, in which he is top weight with 12st.
A Press Association message from Sydney states that tho imported racing stallion Breakspear is dead.
The courßo is said to be in perfect order for the forthcoming; Marlborough Mooting, and the racing is oxnecled to be particularly good next week. A record meeting iB being looked forward to.
