The following appoiulments to the Staff at General Headquarters and to tho Sainoan garrison, and tho appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of tho undermentioned oliieors of the N.Z. Staff Corps, Itoyal N.Z. Artillery, and Territorial Force have been ..pproved:Major Hayner B. Smythe, D.5.0., N.Z. Stall' Corps, ia attached to tho Department of tho Chief of ilia Genoral Staff. Dated February 28, 1918. Major (temp. Lieutcnant-Colond) Murray M. Gard'ner, D.5.0., p.s.fl. g-> It.N.Z.A., is attached to tho staff .(it General Headquarters for inspectorial duties connected with coast defences, and is graded assistant quartermaster-general at General Headquarters for duty in the Department of tho Quartermaster-General to tho Forces Dated April 23, 1918. ' Captain Irwin E. Paris, M.8., N.Z.M.C., is appointed a membor of a special district medical beard. Dated April 10, Lioutonant Eric IV. J. Million loth (North Canterbury and Westland) Itcgiment, is appointed aide-de-camp (temporarily) to His Excellency the Larl of Liverpool, P.C., G.0.M.U., M.V.O. GovernorGeneral and Commander-in-Chief. Dated April 25, 1918.

Smythe, D.5.0., is struck off the strength of the N.Z.b.l'., with effect from February 26,1918, and u absorbed into the establishment with Ins original rank and seniority therein, viz., major, as from January 1, ?9h>. Gard'ner, strength of the fr.Z.RF., with effect from April 23, IMS, and is absorbed into the establishment with his original rank and seniority therein, viz., major, as from April l, 1912.
