"W.W.G.R."—In normal times a letter would take about 50 days to reach London from AVellington, via the Suez Canal, and 31 days via San Franoisoo (provided the mail mado all connections). A letter would take 20 daye to reach Cape Town from Wellington when the mailboats were running in peace times. There is no telling now how lonjr a letter will take to travel any distance, owing to the disruption of mail services, tho shortage of labour, and tho U-boats.'
