Y.M.C.A. NOTES

Soldiers again thronged the local Y.M.C.A. Buildings over the week-end. Between 300 and 400 khaki men used the Willis Street building on Sunday, using writing and reading facilities or attending meetings. The Kev. A. Header gave a splendid address on "Dropping the Pilot'.' to the men's meeting, and Miss Black sang a solo which, was much appreciated. Over 100 soldiers, and visitors attended the strangers' tea. The after-church song service was largely attended and 202 soldiers served with free supper. The Bov. Percy Knight (of Christchurch) delivered an inspiring message at the resident soldiers' service on Sunday morning. Between th© hostel in Bouleott Street and the main Yf.M.C.A. in Willis Street 358 beds were let and 817 meals served lo men from the camps over the week-end,
