_4 . The annual report of tile manager of tho Wanganui Municipal Tramways (Mr. ' V. V Tniboys) says that the revenue over all routes this year is considerably in excess of that of the previous one. In : every rase over 10 per cent, increase has been' obtained, while that over the hue 1 owned by tho Gonvilk-Castlecliff Board has shown nearly 16 per cent, more than for the corresponding period. Tho two latest extensions, Wanganui East and Upper Aramoho, are becoming more popular end more remunerative. The former, with a two-car service, increased tiom JJl27+ to J51465, and tho latter, with ono car, from .£592 to .£668. In the revenue for car imleago from the board, is included the Mini of £500 paid in respect to tho deficiency that accrued during the first year of the board's operations. . , , . By November next the jatepayers must gi'vo their sanction or uthorwisa on the matter of the borough purchasing the undertaking, as under the agreement one year's notice of intention to acquire must, then be given. Great difficulty has licen experienced in endeavouring to obtain power plant, urgently required for this undertaking, the contract, for which was placed with the manufacturer in 1 June, 1916, and notwithstanding tbs elToris made to weure the authority lor shipment of this plant from England, no word has vet been received ot its dispatch.
