Enterine the back stretch Albert Cling made a • forward move, and at the half-mile post ho was showing out from Cole Nut, with Queen Oliimcs several lengths away. Taylor, and, judging from tho munnor in which h.o won, Derby honours look well within his capabilities. Tho Walrarapa owner, Mr. W. E. Bidwill, is retiring from racing, and the whole or his thoroughbreds are to bo sold. Devotion has already changed hands, having been purchased by the Waikauae breeder, Mr. Lan Duncan. At Trentham on Saturday several horses with engagements at the Blonheim meeting wero Bent against the watch. Kienzl, who looks nice, finished alongside Blue Gown at the end.of seven furlongs in lmin. 35sco. The Ail Red maro seems to be staying on better now. and may get a middle distance successfully next sonron. Mount Victoria was much too good fcr Bakaia (Danubo-Historietto) in a sprint down the straight. The old fellow can still muster up a bit of pace over a short course, and he hits out wolj when the sting is out of the ground. Miss do Val has finished her racing for tho present season, and has been blistered, and turned out. Her box is being filled shortly by an Advance youngßter raeutIv purchased by Mr. Ebb Simpson. 'The name of Winter has boen claimed for the Autumnus—Acma colt in A. Goodman's stable. Tho youngster, who is cwncd by Mr. H. Whitney, is n, well-grown colt, and a nice mover on tho tracks. The KicVar,.on-trained Achillodcs is to bo a riinniT in tho Marlborough Cup, one milo and a quarter. His stable companion Koseveav will accompany him to the meeting. , A patron of B.
