TERRITORIAL CAMPS
A COUNTY COUNCIL PROTEST. By Teloirraph.—Press Association. Pahlatua, May 4. The Pahiatua County Council unanimously resolved: "That owing to the tjreat shortago of labour it is of opinion Territorial camps should re discontinued until normal conditions fro restored." Soveral instances were quoted where moa engaged in essential farm or road work had to go to a Territorial camp, when they would learn the same drill in the main training camp. One case was that of a married man with two ohildren, and another instanco was that of a remaining son on a farm, with three brothers enlisted. A road teamster had been refused exemption, and the team was idle. Condemnation was expressed, the position being described as ridiculous.
