During these operations the mounted brigade which watched the crossings of the Jordan' at Jisraldamie was attacked and. forced back by a superior enemy force, which crossed the river during tho night. Tho horse artillery batteries supporting this brigade wero in most difficult broken country, and were obliged to abandon nine-gnus.
