•ENEMY'S REDUCED RESERVES NO GREATER TIAN GENERAL .. FOOTS. : . PROGRESS MADE BY BRITISH ' . '- ' AND FRENCH There 19 not much news to-day of events in the Western theatre, but tha mesjiiges of correspondents imlicatc that the enemy is expected very shortly.to resume his interrupted oilensive. They indicate also that the Allied armies, .olidly welded under the enemy's hammer-blows, instead of being broken, are awaiting the renewal of the struggle in full confidence. A detail exception to the-generally favourable course of the Palestine campaign is reported. East of the Jordan, British and Australian forces have captured the village of Es Sait, capturing more than 300 Turks and Germans, but further south the enemy has crossed the Jordan at a point guarded by- a detached brigade, and'captured some guns. Beinf'orcei ments were speedily brought to ■ bear, and there is at present nothing tn indicate .that iho surprise effected by the enemy is "likely to have serious '. results. The Prussian Diet has rejected the equal franchise proposal, but a'very big minority rote was cast in favour of the reform.
