DEATH AT 105 YEARS
A PIONEER OF NEW SOUTH WALES. Tho death somo days ago of Mrs. Elizabeth Moore, of ,'G Pitt Street, Milson'e Point, at the age of 105 years, removes one of the -Most residents of the State. Deceased was a native of the town of Birr, King's County, Ireland, v:hero she was born on January 13, 1813. Twentyseven years later she came, as a singlo girl, to Sydney, in ( .he ship Jano Clifford. Three years later she married James Moore, and shortly afterwflTds the young couple eot cut for the Macintyre country, on the borders of the northern State, where they engaged in pastoral pursuits. In the course of time Jlaitland became their home, mid for thfr past Iβ years Mrs. Moore resided, on the North Shove. Until she fell on a stairs and broke ono o{ liev hip-bones nine months ago sho was a regular attendant every Sabbath at the little ltoman Catholic church which was but a short -distance from her home, the spurned assistance from the members of hor family, prefer, ring to walk lo her devotions unassisted, even at tho ago of 101 years. From the time of the accident Mrs. Mooro was an invalid, and it is said that the mishap accelerated her death. Deceased wns blessed with good health during tho course of her long career, hor only serious ailment being an attack of pneumonia some five years back. Mrs. Moore was the mother of seven children—four sons and throe daughters. Two of the sods and one daughter are dead. Sh<> wns Hie grandmother of 35 children, ;ind tho great-grandmother of V\.
