Captain Vr.ndore, master of the Hazel Repton, will come ashore before thfc scow sails, OVERHAUL OF AORERE. Tho Ferry Board of the Eastbourne Borough Council have decided to begin the overhaul of the Aorirc as soon us possible, and with that end in view men wcro yesterdp.y at work making preparations for the removal of tho boiler, which will he taken out to-day to facilitate tho repairing of a patch on tho bottom of it. An examination (f the condition of the engines and the boiler is being mado, and when tenders for repairs and alterations close next week the work will the started at once. On account of the severity of tho southerly gale at New Plymouth, the Baden Powell has been unable to leave that port, and her departure from Wellington for New Plymouth has necessarily been postponed until Monday. The Southern Steamship Company's Ktitare is due here on Saturday or Sunday with general'cargo from Dunedin, and will after discharge load transhipments for Dunedin. The Greymouth Harbour Board's dredgo Mawhera is expected to arrive at the end of the month to undergo her annual overhaul. Mr. R. Duncan, Government Chief Inspector of Machinery and Chief Surveyor of Ships, has arrived in Dunedin from Wellington..
