LECTURE AT THE Y.M.C.A.
Over one hundred people listened with very great interest to Jliss L. I l '. Boniw.el!'fi lecture on 'The Sudan: lis Peoples, Problems 2nd Possibilities," at the Y.M.C.A. Booms. Willis Street, on Tuesday evening. Miss Boniivell spoke strongly of the urgent'need of men and money to extend the work of makinjr a blockade across Central Africa against the advancing tide of Mohammedanism. The lantern slides depicting native life and the work of the Sudan United Mission were very fine. There was a good response to nn appeal by the chairman, Jlr. J. C. Port (chdinuau of tho New Zealand Y.M.C.A. Foreign Work Executive). However, much more support is required from Wellington for this splendid cause.
