PROPOSED SENIOR .COMPETITION. A special genoral meeting of players over the age of 21 years called last night under tho auspices of the Wellington Football Association met \vitli but a poor response. Not many 'players attended, and the opinion was expressed that insufficient notice had been given of the meoting. Mr. A.' E. Wells, chairman of the association,' who presided, said that a number of senior players had expressed n. desire to inaugurate a competition for men over 21 years, but judging from tho attendance it would not appear that the prospects were good. , Mr. A. Williams, secretary. of the association, mentioned that on tho grounds last Saturday a number of former players had approached him in the matter' and appeared to bo very keon.about it. St. David's Club had' agreed to enter a team if tho competition ivero started, ■likewise'Y.M.C.A. and Diamonds, and a combined team representing Hospital and Porirua. Possibly a Trentham. oleven might participate, and there was some talk of the Institute coming in. Mr. 'Vyebster, who was present, said that ho'thought Wanderers could get a team together. As an, upshot of further discussion it was decided to adjourn the meeting and to circularise all clubs likely to ontor tho competition, asking them lo definitely enter a team.
