Mr. 'J'. Bertram Ralphs, owner of Kimjnnl Stock J.'arni, Caigary, lias sold a nnlf interest in his Shorthorn bull, Jlissie's Prince, to Air. 11. S. Currie, Castor, for .£2OOO, thus putting a total value of ,£IOOO on the bull Mimic's Prince hits, had a (,reat career. ■ As a show animal he has ranked among tho beat ever produced, and as a prepotent sire he in regarded cs one of the greatest of the breed, lie was bred by Sir. Thomas Slanton, of Wheafon, 111., and was aired by Princo .Imperial, a bull that sold at auction three ;/cars ago, when onttl'S values were :iothing like what they am to-day, for .£2OOO. lie was for a timo herd, sire at (lie Sir William Van Dorno KViale in Alanitoba, and ho was purchased three years ago by Mr. Ralphs. Kimmel Prince was !iie first Shorthorn calf to bring ,E270 by auction in Aiherta, his purchaser baing Air. W. Sharp, of Lacombe. Seven of his sons 6old for an average of over ,£IGO in 1017, and a heifer calf, Kimniel After, was mado grand champion female at the recent winter fair, selling at auction later for .£l5O to Air. George A. Davidson. Air. Ralphs states that his calves have netted him more than .£IOOO during 1917. Mr. Frank \V. Hnrding, secretary of the American Shorthorn llreedors' Association, says a tried bull that can produce J2OO calves is certainly not dear at .£3OOO to ,£IOOO.
