ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH, KELBURN
ANNUAL MEETING. The animal meeting of the parishioners of St. Michael's All Angels' Church, Kelburn, was held last evening, the Ilev. A. W. Payne, M.A., presiding. Tlie re- ! port and balance-sheet, a precis of which | has been published, were adopted. The I following officers were elected:—Vicar's churchwarden, Jlr. Ci. N. Stitrtevant; parishioners' churchwarden, Mr. H. E. Evans; vestrymen, Messrs. H. 11. Bannister, n. !$. Barns, W. Bray, V. J. Carter, W. A\ ; . do Castro, T. K. Luwson, G. W. Morgan, W. E. Southwick, T. .G. Wright (re-elected), and S. It. Policy; hon. auditor, Mr. G. W. Janisch; trustees for building fund, the vicar and Messrs. V. T. K. Johnston and Ntirrtevant. Jlr. If. E. Evans was elected district representative at synod. . On the subject of church franchise (lie meeting decided by vote to recommend the principle of granting the franchise to adults of either sex conlirmed in the Anglican Church. ; ! Plans of the new church were exhibit- | ed by Mr. E. K. Watson, architect. Invereiirgill. The architect has adopted ! the late early English style, depending i for effect rather on goncral massing than | detail. It is proposed to build in brick with, stone weatherings and window mullions. The completed building will commodate over 350 adults. Before closing tho meeting passed a resolution approving the plans and urging the incoming vestry to continue the efforts towards raising hlio funds necessary to commence the new building as soon as possible.
