ALLEGED THEFT FROM STORES
THREE MEN ARRESTED. By TeleifritDli.-I'resa Association. ■ 8 New Plymouth, April 30. Frederick Roebuck, Frederick M'Grcßor, (iiid Arthur Corbett nppwirctl beforo Mr. Crooke, S.M., yesterday, and were remanded to Monday, on charges of breaking, entering, nnd theft at Okato. It appears that early on Sunday morning the men were seen by the proprietor mm an employee to leave Greenwny's store, premises with cases of benzine and kerosene. A chase ensued, in which a pursuer fired a revolver. Roebuck and C'orbett were caught, the latter being entangled in barbeil-wiiw. Later, Constable O'Neill arrested Si'Cfregnr, the accused being motored to New Plymouth. About 5 a.m. 10-dny a search warrant whs executed by the police, and miscellaneous goods, valued at £% were discovered under tlio premises of Roebuck nnd M'Grcgor. The Roods have been identified )>y local storekeepers.
