BRITISH MOTOR LAUNCHES IN WAR
TRIBUTE TO THEIR SPLENDID work. London, April 29. Tho excellent work of tho motor launches in tho Zeebruggo raid draws attention to tho splendid services of these craft throughout tho war. The motor launches of tho auxiliary patrol service are manned chiefly by men lvlio wero amateur yachtsmen in peaco time, and consisted in tho early days of the war of pleasure craft. Since then they have been replaced by specially-constructed launches. Year after year these vessels have kept tho seas in tho worst weather, whon other vessels were compelled to Beck shelter. They have plnyat a great part in searching and clearing mine areas and fighting U-boats. Tho Admiralty records contain many instances of the fine work of tho trawlers, which are manned chiefly by fishermen. One naval reservist commanding a trawler has been instrumental in 6aving 25G euvivors from eight ships torpedoed in his area.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
