COST OF THE NEW ALLOWANCES. It is estimated that llio immediate increaso in the allowance in respect to soldiers' children will total .£101,911 per annum. The additional grants for widowed mothers of soldiers now serving will amount to .€17,062 per year (total ,£30,713 per annum), but it is impossible to estimate how much this total will be added to by reason of the separation allowance paid to additional widowed mothers who will become eligible from month to month as fresh, drafts enter camp.
