Mr. Wilkic, in the part ot Lieutenant Terence i'eilding, again scored well, his acting 111 tho drunken scene, where, for the purpose of hoodwinking two people whom tie lias reason to su&pect are German spies, iie chains inebriation, is a convincing piece of acting. An important feature of the new programme presented at ills Majesty's Theatre last mailt was the first appearance there ol Mr. ffylie Watson, a clever comedian who is already highly popular with Wellington audiences. Mr. Watson is supported by Itiss Ada Smart, and between them they present a turn that is both tuneful and humorous, it includes a delightfully fuuny interpretation of "The irreman." Mr. Watson had a most cordial reception lust night.. The Dick and Dorothy Trio made their roappearance in song and dance, find proved as graceful and vivacious as ever. They had to respond to repealed recalls. Jfr. Howard Hall, who mado hie initial bow at His Majesty's Theatre, used a fine baritone voice eiiectivcly i:« descriptive ballads. Mr. Ted Mao Lean and Mies Genevieve Lee appeared in anothsr of Sir. MacLcan's playlets. dealing on this occasion with the adventures of a inaid who entered tho wrong fiat. Another very successful turn was that of Miss Maud Courtenay and "Mr. C.," who scored with some amusing topical verse. The Musical Kennedys, the "frio Clnssique," provided some delightful music with 'cello, flute, and piano. Sergeant Copeland and "The Kid" presented i again their interesting and mystifying exhibition of mind-reading. Tho programme will bo repeated throughout the week THE QUEEN'S THEATRE. A film entitled "The Book Agent," by the Pox Company, is the feature at the Queen's Theatre, -Cuba Street, this week. The photo-play stars George Walsh, an irrepressible actor with an infectious smile and much skill in fun-making. This comedy is one well suiting his peculiar talent, and it does appear that if he had cared to sell books as an occupation ho might have made a success of the business in reality. There are a number of supporting iiime ou the programme, all of them new ;o Wellington audiences, and all of good quality. "ENLIGHTEN THY DAUGHTER." "Enlighten Thy Daughter," the sevenreel mature wnich is being starred at the King's Theatre this week, i 3 attracting a great deal ot notice. Tho object of the story is to bring home to parents the gravo dangers to which young girls are exposed wiion sent out into the world without the necessary warning of the social dangers to be met. The subject is handled with judgment, and some of thp acting is really excellent. Rubyc. do Reemer, of "Tho Auction Block" fame, is featured in the leading role in addition to the feature item is shown the 11th instalment of "The Neglected Wife," "A Reckless Indiscretion" EMI'RESS THEATRE. "The Awakening," tho World Film drama, starring Montagu Love and Dorothy Kelly, now screening at the Empress Theatre, is an interesting story of ntudent life. The picture iB well presented and holds tho audience throughout. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. X crashing motor accident from cars that fall backwards is it new thrill in "Betty Takes a llaud," tho Triangle drama now screening at Everybody's Theatre. Although j.olive Thomas in this drama is not a cabaret girl she manages to infuse all the joy and spice of life into her role. Charles Gunn portrays the hero, while George Hernandez, as the multi-millionaire, does one of his dry and intensely funny characterisations. In addition to this feature is shown a very line picture of Auckland and surroundings taken from an aeroplane. This is claimed to be the first and only nieture taken from the air in New Zealand."
