ALLEGED HOUSE OF ILL-FAME
CHARGES AGAINST FIVE WOMEN. As the result of a police raid conductjed by Sergeant Wade, assisted by COll- - stables Tricklebank, ftusscll, Cattcnack, and Drumgoid, on a house —No. '18, Upland Koad, Kelburt—on Knlurday night, (lie following appeared in the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., yesterday morning:— Mary Griffin, .barged with keeping a house of ill-fame at So. -18 Upland lioadj Marian Elliott, Alma Elliott, Eileen Pringlo, and Winifred Olsen, charged with assisting in the management of an alleged house of ill-fame, No. -IB Upland Koad. , All the defendants pleaded not guilty. Mr. 11. E. Evans stated, that Mr. M. Myeiv. who was to appear for Marian Elliott, Alma Elliott, ami Eileen Prmgle, was una'olo to bo present, and ou Ins behalf he asked for an adjournment ot tho case until Monday, May ti, and asked for bail. „ , , The whole of tho defendants were remanded to Monday next. Bail was allowed in .ClflO and two sureties ot JloO eacn in respect to each defendant.
