SOLDIERS' SPORTS
''IO BE HELD AT TBENTHAM. A sports meeting of an interesting character will bo lield by tho Thirtyseventli Eeinforcemente on the Tronlhain Racecourse next Tuesday jiiternoon. The programme is a varied one, and the ©vents range from athletic uvente—including a tug-of-war on the knock-out system, and a boxing competition—to a team bayonet assault. This last-named event should be of special interest to civilians who have not seen the working of a military training camp. Each team will consist of twelve men, who will advanco from an assembly trench and iissault a number of enemy lines, clearing all communication trenches, dug-outs, and shell-craters. Having done this they will re-form and advance to meet the counter-attack, after which they will occupy a fine position, and open firt on the enemy. A. nuinbor of teams havo entered for this contest. _ , The bpiins competition for novices will be a big attraction. Eoyal Navy and Army Boxing Association rules will ba observed throughout, and efeht-rrance gloves will ho used. The weights for the competition will be:—Heavy-weight, catch-sreight w«lter (10st. 71b.
