A LIFETIME CAR. Mr. John W. Bate, tho great efficiency engineer, has, in designing tho "Mitchoil, aimed at a lifetime car. Two Bate-built Mitchells,. still in good condition, havo run over 200,000 miles apiece. Seven of them are known to have averaged over 175,000 miles apiece, or more than 30 years' ordinary service' So far as we know, no other car ever built has approached those endurance records. Those records, however, were made by Mitchell, built- under former standardsof 50 per cent, over-strength. That was the standard Mr. Bato adopted years ago. It made him, at that time, seem an extremist. Other engineers argued that in ordinary driving no such margin' of safety was necessary. But that overstrength is what made Mitchell Cars render their marvellous service. But three years ago Mr. Bale spent a year in Europe. There ho found a standard, amongst foremost engineers, of 100 per cent, over-strength. That standard was based on European roads. It would not moan '.hat much margin here. But it suggested to Mr. Bate the samo double strength, based on lees favourable conditions. Since then Mr. Bate has constantly' worked to double our margins of eafety. He has worn out fifty care in learning the needed strength. He has invented tests to prove that every vital port has twice' the strength required. This year, for the first time, we announce that Mitchells in all important parts have 100 • per cent, over-strength. That is, they are built to twice the strength standards of the Alitcholls which made those records. Over 410 parts are built of loughened eteel. All parts which got a major strain are bniltof Chrome-Vanadium, and built over-eizo. . Axles, gears, steering and driving parts are constantly tested for this double strength. The factory inalyse all Bteels to ensure it, and part 9 aro subjected to tremendous factory tissfs. Call and inspect tho latest 5 and 7passenger Models at INGLIS BIIOS.
