Captain Frank Nuttall, K.F.0., who was mentioned tho other day as having received tho Military Cross, is the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. C Nuttall, Caledonian Road, Christchurch. Ho was in England when the war broke out, and joined the Koyal Hying Corps, first as i>. mechanic and lator on as an airman. He served in ]<Vance at first, and then went on to Egypt, being subsequently sent to. Mesopotamia. In the "Ba6ra Times" oi December 3, tho Orders of tho Day from General Headquarters, Mesopotamian Ex. peditionary Force, stato that the decoration was awarded to Captain Nuttall "for conspicuous gallantry and daring when in enemy territory. Seeing another machine driven down by hostile fire he glided to earth in his single-seater under heav£ fire, dispersing the enemy with hie machine-gun. He took the stranded piir.t on board, speedily roso in tho air, n;ui though still under fire got safely away. By his prompt and courageous action h* rescued a comrade who would otherwise have been taken prisonnr." The funeral of tho lato Mr. .Tas. J. Flyger, which, was to havo taken place this afternoon, has boen postponed until 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
