SENTENCES ON SOLDIERS
It is announced in Trentham Camp orders that 55,350 Private F. Money, A.S.C., and 57,353 Private B. A. M'Rae, A.S.C., have been convicted by courtmnrtial of disobeying the lawful commands of a superior officer in such a manner as to show a wilful defiance of authority, nnd each sentenced tj two years' imprisonment with hard labour.
In the eases of 65, KM Private P. O'Sullivan, Details, and 70,777 Private D. J. Bourke, Details (late Thirty-fifth Reinforcements), found guilty when under orders for active sen-ice of_ deserting His Majesty's service and losing by neglect their equipment, clothing, and regimental necessaries, sentences io detention for 112 davs and 110 days respectively were imposed, also stoppages to pay for deficiencies in kit, but the sentences are mitigated so that if tlie accused embark for active service outside, of New Zealand, then upon arrival at the final port c r 'disembarkation , the unexpired portion (if of their 1 sentences will be remitted, and their "New Zealand records will be endorsed accordingly.
