Machine-gun Section, the signatures of whom ure appended. The'card itself is iv very interesting souvenir, ami had been r artistically carried out with a decorative design on one side of the regimental colours/with below a camel's ■ head in shaded gold, nnd the words: "Greetings from the Camel Corps." Un tho inside page is a photograph representing tho units of which t.bo Corps is composed—Australian, English, New Zealand and Indian mounted on their respective camels. The accompanying verse is as follows.— We fight for those wlio lore us, ■t 1 or tlioso who love us true, For the Heaven that smiles above us And awaits our spirit, too. J?or the cause that lacks assistance, For tho wrong that needs resistance, Vor the future in the distance And the good that we can do. The artist responsible for the frontispiece is evidently "Will Green." A bow of grey green ribbon gives the finishing touch to a very interesting memento of the Great War as it is carried out in tho Cradle of the Faith, Palestine. A packing of soldiers' parcels destined for. Egypt took place at tlio Town Hall yesterday, aud' in all about 500 parcels will be dispatched, each one containing towels, tin of jam, condensed milk, sweets, meat extract, tobacco, and either cake or a tin of preserved prunes.
Miss Mill and Miss Agnes Mill, of Dunedin, have returned from a visit to ltotorua. en route to their home in tho south.
Mr. and Mrs. AV. Evans and Miss Evans, and Mr. and Mrs.. Adanv Scott, of 'J'imuru, are visiting A\ r ollington.
Mrs. J. Hutchison, of Dunedin, who has. been on a short visit to Featherston, is at present in Wellington.

Miss Marjory Holmwood, a pupil of Mr. A.. B. Wallace, of _Jlnsterlon, has been niwrdod tlio gold medal for marks obtained in tho advanced grade examination of the R.A.M. and R.C.M. . This honour iB open to nil candidates for tho examination in New Zealand, and it is the first occasion upon which it Ims been awarded to a Masterton candidate.

Mr. and Mrs. F. "White, of Greylown. nnd Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Speedy, of Featherston, are away on a motor tour, and will visit AVanganui, New Plymouth, and Napier in the course of their travels.
Miss Edith Sutherland has been appointed general secretary to the New Zealand Food Reform League, Auckland, under the supervision of a number of medical and scientific men throughout the Dominion. The league will also represent the Imperial Medical Association for I ho Prevention of Cancer.

The Countess of Liverpool Fund workers will hold a packing day to-morrow. Leather waistcoats for our soldiers abroad arc an absolute necessity for winter wear, and the Fund's workers are now beginning to pot supplies of them made ready for dispatch before August at the latest. Orders for these waistcoats are taken, either lined with tussore sill; us the purchaser may wish, or unlincd. SUPERFLUOUS HAIR. She was one of those somewhat mro persons who do good by stealth, nnd do not let their right hand know- what their left is doing and her loss will be f ult by a very wide circle of friends and by many'whom 1 she had so quietly and e.n understandliigly befriended in their times of stress and trouble,
