MISSING VESSELS
SEARCH OP ISLAND REEFS.
Two island vessels are reported overdue and a search has been made of Ilia Mid'dletan und Elizabeth Reefs for traces of them. A report has been'rcceived m Sydney that it had' been unsuccessful* Traces of some old wrecks were found ou both the Middleton and Elizabeth Reefs,but there was no evidence of any recent disaster. ■ , ... Olio of tho missing vessels is the auxiliary .ketch Warrigal'. Some weeks ago she rail into a K>ilo off tho const, and had her decks swept and motor disabled. Mm put into Cape Hawko for repairs, and' eventually proceeded on her voyage, and reached Norfolk Island. She bad loaded part cargo there when a cyclonic storm, | evidently the same that passed over North Queensland, swept over Norfolk Island. The vessel was compelled to put 1.0 sea to escape , being driven ashore. Since then sho Ims not been beard 01, and fears are now entertained for her safety. Captain Forrest was in charge of the ketch, whicli is owned by a Sydney syndicate.
