The lull on the great battlefront in the West continues—comparatively speaking—and public attention is at present absorbed in the possibilities surrounding ihe onemy's next move. .Meanwhile a spirit of cheerful confidence pervades the fighting lines of tho British. Extraordinary scenes were witnessed at the administering of the pledge against conscription.
