WORK RESUMED. By Telegraph—Press Association.. Greymouth, April 22. After a. month's idleness -the Paparoa coal mine resumed work The dispute over the dismissal of tho man Wean has bppn seitled. Woan- is lo be reinstated at work outside tho mine. .Another big strike at tho Blackball mine was narrowly averted. It appears a tally taken of a miner on contract was attached to a truck of coal won by the company's men on daily wages,, the company's mark in chalk being defaced. This led tho manager to dismiss one of the miners. The union took the matter up and a strike was narrowly aicrted. • Mr. H. Semplo has been in the dietrict a good deal, and tho credit of settling both disputes is to him.
