The Sew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Peilding on Friday a small entry of sheep and cattle came forward. The quality was inferior and a dull salo resulted, except for lambs, which sold well: Small iambs, 12s. 3d.; medium, 16s. Id.; 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 28s. 3d.; cweß, in lamb, 205.; rams, 12a. 6d.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report,:—At FeUding on April 19 only a small entry of stock came forward. The market on the whole was dull although most of the lines submitted changed hands at the following rates.- Fat and forward cows, '£10 17s. 6d. to £11 10s.; store cows, £6 15s. to £8; tinners, £5 to £4 155.; springing heifers, £11 103. to £13; Z-year steers (bad colours),' £7 159.; 20-month heifers, £3 155.; 20-month steers (bad colours), £5 lis. to Hi 55.; cull weavers, 14s. to 16s. 6d.; 2-tooth ewes, 30s. Id.; fat "and forward ewes, 255.; full-mouth ewes in lamb 15s. to 18s.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Palmerston North, report having a medium yarding of sheep and cattle. at'their I'eildins sale on Friday. Quotations:— Sheep: Mixed lambs, 16s. 6d.; forward eweß, 20s. Cattle: Dairy cows, £10 to £14 5b.; dairy heifers to £11; 20-month heifers, £5 12s. 6d.; empty cows, £7 55., £7 155., £8, to £9.
Mr. Newton King reports:—At Kaponga on April 12 there was a full yarding of saleable cattle, with a good attendance of buyers. Weaners' were the only cattle unBold. Fat cows made from £10 ss. to £13 155.; fat hcifera up to £10 12s. 6d.; bulls up to £14 7s. 6d.; forward cows, from £7 17i. 6d. to £9 55.; store cows, £4 7s. 6d. to £7 10s.; 20-month heifers, £4 10s.; big weaner heifers, £3 7s. 6d.; small weanera, 205.; 3-year forward conditioned steers. £13 55..: old cows, £3 12s. 6d.; forward ewes,. 21s. 9d.; aged ewes, ss. At Bahotu on the same day weaner 6teers made £2 9b. to £3 10s.; weaner heifers, 34b. to £2 35.; mixed weaners, good, up to £3 135.; others, 28s. to £2 155.; empty cows, £6 9sV to £7 55.; fat heifers, £10 10s. At TJrenui on April 15 -there was a small yarding. Jersey weaner steers made 235. to 255.; mixed weanera, £2 Is. 6d.; 2i-year steers, £9 6s. to £10 145.; 18-montn steers, £7 55.; forward cows, £8' 10s. to £9 195.: weaner heifers, 255.; store cows. £4 15s. to £7 55.; fat and forward owes, 265. 9d.; f.m. ewes, In lamb, 17s. 7d. At Stony Eiver, on April 16 there was a full yarding with a slackened demand. There was no sale for weaners. At Tikorangi on April 17, for Mr. D. Paul's clearing sale, there was a very large attendance and good competition throughout. Dairy cows nold up to £20 10s., the herd averaging over £12 10s.; store cows made £5 ss. to £6; mixed weaners. 26b.; 2iyear Shorthorn bull, £16; lambs, 145.; cull ewes 45.; store pigs, 275.; sow, in farrow, IA 10s.; boar, £1 10s.; separator, £19 Is. 5d.; Adriance mower, £15; 3-ycar unbroken gelding, £10 10s.; 4-year filly broken £10.
The WRirarapa Farmers' Co-operative 'Association, Ltd.. Ktock Department,- report having held their weekly Cartel ton sale when a good yarding nf sheep, cattle and pigs was submitted. Bidding at auction was moderately keen for sheep, cattle and pigs dragging somewhat; nevertheless, a good sale has to be reported. Quotations are a? under:—Sheep: Light, tut wethers, 31s.
