The Wairarapa Rugby Union will commence the season with a credit of i; 99 14s. lid. The accident fund is in credit to the extent of JJ-il 3s.

A sum of about .£l5O has been subscribed in ilasterton in aid of the eufierers by the Kaetihi bush fires. The Wairarapa Lady Liverpool Committee is dispatching two hundred parcels for the soldiers in Egypt. One of the remits passed by thfe Tinui branch of the Farmers' Union i'or consideration at the provincial conference is to the effect that conscientious objectors wlio refuse to serve their country should be disfranchised.

There are" at present li 7 free place, pupils on the roll of the llasterton Tecnnical School.

The following resolution has been passed at a meeting of '.ho Masterton branch of Ihe •Protestant Political Association: "Thiii this branch urges the Government to extend and develop the educational facilities of the Dominion eo that postwar conditions will be fully met by future Eonerntions."

The Mnstorton branch of Hie Protestant Political Association has pnssed a resolution protesting against the rnibarso placed upon the importation of Protestant literature.

It is expected Hint Anzac Day will lie observed as a full holiday in Masterton.
