At a secret session of tile iiouso of Commons a message from Mr. LLoyd Georgo was read, bating that tho Canadians were holding Lens, and to be prepared for the tremendous forthcoming attacks it was necessary that largo reinforcements should i(iake good the losses. Tho House decided to support the Government, and by tho full use of conscription to procure the largest forces :>ossible. Tho Government by an Order-in-Coun-cil has imposed heavy penalties on persons found guilty of creating unrest or suspicion with reference to Hie Allies' war aims,- or the conduct of the war.
