LABOUR PARTY AND THE WAR
ELIMINATION 01? SPIRIT OF MILITARISM SOUGHT. London, April 18. Mr. Arthur Henderson, M.P., Secretary of tho Labour Party, speaking at a dinner to tho American Labour delegates, said it was utterly false to suggest that British Labour was anxious for peace at any price. They sought to eliminato tho spirit of militarism not merely from Germany, but from the world; and for that reason they strongly favoured a league of peoples. They 'wished to make clear to tho German workers that they must abandon Imperialistic designs for the domination of the world. 'The British workers therefore urged the International Conference to propose conditions to remove niLsundorsiandings.—Reuter.
