CANADA'S HELP IN THE CRISIS
DRASTIC CALL ON HER MANPOWER. Ottawa, April 17. Tho Government's regulations calling up men over 111 will bo submitted to Parliament on Thursday. Tho regulations abolish existing tribunals and exemptions; machinery has also been created to empower tho Government to divide the men into classes and utilise them in tho oversea forces, or at some tasks according to their ages and qualifications. Tho statement points out that it is necessary to call n,p men between ID and 24 becaueo the critical situation on the West front ha<s rendered reinforcements imperative. Tho Government has decided, in view of the seriousness of tho war situation, to call out men between 20 and 2S years of age, and to abolish all exemptions. Meantime the Military Service Act is to bo speeded up.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
