The Ha,wke's Bay Farmers report on their Dannevirke tattle fair:—"Both the sheep and cattle yards were taxed to their utmost, capacity, besides which we offered several lines in our paddocks adjoining : the yards. Our total offering was about, . 1450 head, of which we sold a little over 1100. The sale was'rather dull for a start, but practically all our vendors made up tbpir minds to meet the market, and ■ nncn they. etartert to sell, buyers got to : work. We consider the fair as a whole ' one of the most successful wo have ever «oen, particularly so for well-bred young cattle. We had not, a great many of these to offer and could have sold 600 to 690 head -moro than wo had. The only rattle which did not make really good prices were prown bullocks. We, however, cold practically the whole of our entry In this claep, either privately or at auction. Of the last 16 lots of cattle we oflered at the end of the sale, every lot but one . was sold under the hammer, and the one lot , we Gold privately afterwnnlß. A small pen of particularly Rood Polled Anprun crosfl mother-reared weaners, offered on account of Mr. Kli Bond, made the extreme price of £9 15s.
