Mr. H. Eriießt Leightou reports that at, tho clearance sale held on Saturday, on account of Mr. Tlios. Straitmi, Koroioro, l'otouo thero was a good attendance. Tlio ctock came forward in good condition, and tho bidding was spirited throughout. The cows averaged £10 19s. 3d. per licad; springing heifers to- £;0 15b.; weancr calves, to Jss.; sows, £i 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report, having conducted a very successful clearing hale on Friday, at Hautcre Cross, on account of Mrs .1. G. Stevens. The cows, which wero backward in condition, sold well, and avcrascrl £11 15s. per head. The following prices were obtained :-oows in milk £13 10s., £15, and £17; May calvors, £13 MS., £14. to £16 2s. 6d.; August, calvers, £9 10s., £10 123. 6d to £13 10s"; September calvere, £9 55., £12 10s. to £13 55.; October calvers, £9 to £10 5b.; weaner bull, £3 2a ; aged scolding, £8 15a.; mare in foal, £10; b.f. lambs, small, Us. Ed. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited report having held a salo at the cattle fair, Miller's Road yards, on April 12. Most of tho horses were unbroken, comprising half-draughts and hacks; Thero was a good attendance, and a total clearance was effeotea at satisfactory prices. Unbroken light haif-draughte made up to £10 55.; broken, to £16 10s.; unbroken hacks, to £5 2s 6d.; broken, to £10. There was a good demand for the ponies, and prices ranged from £i 12s. 6d. to £12 153., averaging a little over £10. • The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operatnß Association, Ltd. (Stock Department], report on the autumn cattlo fair held at Miller's Koad yards, Bannevirkc by tho Associated Auctioneers, on Friday, as 10110-,vs:-An 10-,vs:-An exceptionally heavy entry oi all classes of cattlo came forward, the whole of the cattle and sheep yards also adjoining holding yaddocke being utilised to accommodate the entry. As usual hero was a good proportion of rough stuff, but the bulk of tho yarding consisted of fair to good sorts. Thero wore eomo excellent lines of four-year forward bullocks offered, but in most oases these failed to reach vendors' crpectitions at auction. There was a good demand, however, for good quality mother-reared weanere, and all station-bred linci up to 2J-year-olds, these eliciting keen competition, nrices realised showing very satisfactory Voturns to the breeder. Inferior sorts we neglected and most of this class were turned out unsold. Buyers were present from Hawke'a Bay, Manawatu, Wairarapa, and Feilding districts the most of the purchases going to Hawke's Bay buyere. Vβ Yarded about 900 head, highest price in our list of grown bullocks being obtained uy Mr. J. Poters, S3 four year-oft Shorthorns in eood condition- selling at £15 Is. to £15 12s 6d a good pen of 46 18 to 20-month P A Hereford-orosß steers, sold on account Mr J ll'li. Harvey, at £13.
