The House met at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and immediately went into Committee on the Finance Bill. On the amusements tax clause Mr. J. C. Thomson (Wallace) asked the Minister not to levy the tax on the lowestprice tickets for country entertainments. The minimum charge in towns was fid., which was not taxed, but in the country it had to be Is., and he thought the Is. tickets in tho country should be exempt also. The Minister said that he could not do that this session. Tho clause was retained.
