INCREASED OUTPUT OF MUNITIONS
THE LOST GUNS REPLACED A SUPERIOR MODEL OF TANK BEING SUPPLIED London, April 12. Speaking for tho Munitions Department Mr. Kellaway, in the House of Commons, outlined tho progress made in tho production of munitions. The increase in tho first two montbs of 1018, he said, as compared with last year was: Light guns, 30 per cent; medium guns, 57 por cent.; heavy guns„ 38 pop cent.; machine guns, 3G "per cent.; sholls, 83 per cent.; tanks, 39 pov cent.; aeroplanos, 22.') per cent. The avorago weekly production of aeroplanes in 1918 equalled the average production for two months in 1915, while ono wcok'f. production of machine guns equalled that of fivo months in 1915. Over 100,000 men wero released for the Army in 1917. The Army was as well equipped today as when the German offensive began. All the guns lost had been replaced, and wo wero actually stronger in machine guns than at the beginning of tho battle. Tho lost, tanks wore being replaced by a superior model.Eeuter.
