SCULLING
The last of the Star Boating Club's races for the season is all but over. Hi? event being the junior senilis, which i always provided keenly contested r>uThe concluding heat of Hie fir.st ro;i was between Gamble and Wogan. nnd resulted in a win for the former by about three lengths. It was a good race that -would have seen a much closer finish had not Wogan caught a "err.b after sculling about a third of th-- distance. In the semi-finals 'Mams defeated Wakelin somewhat easily. The latter steered a bad course anil allowed a fairly strong southerly to sweep him well out, thus spoiling his chance in the contest. The other semi-final between Montgomery and Gamtie provided one ot the best races seen at the sheds or many a day, and resulted in a win for Montgomery by a bare length. The final will be rowed off between, Mnrris and Montgomery the first rowable evening this week.
